TurningPoint Energy and Madison Energy Infrastructure launch a 20 MW community solar project in Will County, Illinois, boosting renewable energy and local economy.

TurningPoint Energy (TPE) and Madison Energy Infrastructure (MEI) have happily unveiled their maiden venture into community solar endeavors: a comprehensive 20 MW solar energy portfolio located in Will County, Illinois. The brainchild of TPE, this conglomerate of four distinctive projects will dramatically aid Illinois' push towards an ecologically friendly future, superseding existing energy sources with 100% renewable energy by 2050. An interim objective hopes to achieve a 40% replacement within half a decade. MEI will be the enduring proprietor, overseeing the construction, operation and delivery of community solar subscriptions to its commercial clientele and local inhabitants.

Salar Naini, the President of TurningPoint Energy, shared his excitement over this ground-breaking project. “Taking cues from MEI’s strengths and our dedication to fostering Illinois's green energy targets via community solar, we've embarked on this outstanding portfolio. We hold MEI in high regard and appreciate their ongoing commitment to Will County, given their long-term proprietorship and management ensuring enduring benefits from these four projects."

"MEI's partnership with TPE reflects our determination to offer influential clean energy resolutions to our business patrons and the regions we cater to," stated Zachary Muzdakis, Madison Energy Infrastructure's Director of Market Development. He elaborated, "The marriage of TurningPoint's development proficiency and our operational and economic competencies enables the large-scale roll-out of clean energy. Simultaneously, we aim to fortify the local economy through consistent community investment."

Across the City of Joliet, and the Villages of Crete and Peotone, you'll find the four quartz of the solar portfolio. In just its first operational year, the 20 MW solar project portfolio, varying from 2.8 MWdc to 7.5 MWdc, will churn out an astonishing 30 GWh. This not only enables leading corporations but also roughly a thousand residential consumers to enjoy the rewards of clean energy.

This ambitious endeavor constitutes a segment of TPE's broader objective to instigate over 40 community solar projects in Illinois, injecting over half a billion dollars into local communities through philanthropic contributions. Already, TPE has outperformed this local community investment purpose, pitching in over $725,000 in planned donations within Illinois' community solar project enlargement communities.

In relation to this specific venture, both TPE and MEI have pledged their commitment to Will County local communities, signing a collective $100,000 in charitable donations to several non-profit organizations. Beneficiaries include Angels on Assignment and the Peotone Future Farmers of America among others.

These community solar systems are designed to help Illinois meet its green energy goals while strengthening the local economy and supporting the transition to renewable energy. This venture aligns with the growing demand for solar power solutions that offer financial and environmental benefits to both residential and commercial users.

As the state of Illinois continues to embrace clean energy and renewable solutions, community solar projects like this one are paving the way for a more sustainable and energy-independent future.
