1.The introduction of lithium battery.

Lithium-ion batteries are rechargeable batteries that rely on lithium ions to move between positive and negative electrodes. Lithium battery has been widely used in daily life because of its advantages such as high energy density, small footprint and long cycle life. Lithium-ion batteries are playing an increasingly important role in modern life.

2.Let us know how do lithium batteries work ?

Lithium-ion batteries are rechargeable batteries that rely on lithium ions to move between positive and negative electrodes. In the charging and discharging process, Li+ intercalation is disembedded between the two electrodes. In the rechargeable battery, Li+ is debited from the positive electrode and inserted into the negative electrode through the electrolyte, which is in the lithium rich state. In the discharge process, the opposite is true. Lithium-electrode materials are the representative of modern high-performance batteries.

Lithium-ion batteries work on the principle of charge and discharge. When a lithium battery discharges, electrons and Li+ interact at the same time, in the same direction, but in different paths. The electrons pass through an external circuit from the negative to the positive electrode. Lithium-ion Li+ go out of the electrolyte from the negative electrode and go to the positive electrode, where they are together for long time. During the charging and discharging process of a lithium battery, lithium ions are in a state of movement from the positive electrode to the negative electrode and back to the positive electrode. If we compare the lithium ion battery to the rocking chair, the two ends of the rocking chair are the two poles of the battery, the lithium ion is like an excellent athlete running back and forth between the two ends of the rocking chair. So experts have a cute name for the battery, “rocking chair battery”.
