Guarding the Blue Dream: Dive4Love and ACE Battery Collaborate on an ESG Eco-Initiative

Recently, Dive4Love (Shenzhen Dapeng Coral Conservation Volunteer Association) and ACE BATTERY CO., LTD. jointly organized an “ESG Coastal Guardian” beach cleanup volunteer activity in Dapeng New District, Shenzhen. This initiative was not only a direct action to clean up the marine environment but also an important step in raising public environmental awareness and promoting marine ecological protection. Additionally, it provided ACE Battery employees and their children with a meaningful and educational experience in environmental conservation.

 

Educational Beginnings: Sparking Awareness

The event commenced at the Dive4Love Marine Nature Education Center with an engaging lecture. Professional instructors from Dive4Love vividly illustrated the significant threats marine litter poses to marine life and the entire ecosystem. This resonated deeply with participants, heightening their awareness of the urgency of ocean protection. Guided by these instructors, ACE Battery employees and their children repurposed discarded fishing nets into unique and practical handmade tote bags. This creative activity demonstrated the limitless potential of waste reuse while embedding the seeds of environmental stewardship in young minds.

Cleaning Guanhu Beach

The beach cleanup was the centerpiece of the event. Armed with tools, participants collaborated in groups to meticulously scour the beach. Beyond removing visible litter like plastic bottles and cigarette butts, they unearthed deeply buried waste such as tents and abandoned fishing nets. These large debris items not only pollute the marine environment but also pose deadly risks to marine life. Through collective efforts, over 100 kilograms of waste were removed, restoring the beach to its pristine beauty.

Empowering Young Guardians

The children of ACE Battery employees stood out as the brightest “little guardians” of the event. Working side by side with their parents, they directly experienced the importance and challenges of tackling marine litter. Witnessing the harmful effects of ocean debris firsthand and participating in its removal deepened their understanding of marine conservation. This hands-on approach to learning instilled a sense of responsibility and nurtured environmental awareness, preparing them to become proactive advocates and protectors of the environment in the future.
